Do you sometimes feel trapped in a story that is not your own? Are you caught up in the demands of daily life without the time or space to reflect? Do you still struggle to understand experiences from your past and feel like they sometimes hold you back?
This 5 week course is designed to help you discover that writing is the tool you need to better understand your past experiences, grow from your struggles, reclaim your own story, and charge confidently ahead to the future that waits for you.
The weekly activities are thoughtfully created to help you move through your own experiences and write your way to personal clarity. The value of writing has nothing to do with how many people read it, or how worthy it is by anyone else’s standards, but what it offers to you as you string words together on the page and plunge into spaces within your own heart that you didn’t know existed. It is the surest way to make sense of our own stories and take back the pen to truly create our own lives.
If you choose, you can keep all of your work to yourself to hold close and personal. Or if you'd like, you can share work you create in the class on our forthcoming Truth Collaborative blog or in your own creative projects.
"Truth Collaborative is a gentle approach to help you get mindful about your life. This is for writers and non-writers alike! It would make a great gift for a friend who needs healing or clarity. "
- Samira Bregeth, Teacher, Writer, Mother
"Through your guided course, I found the courage to do the work to clean out my soul's gutter. The questions are all phrased from the lens of curiosity and with no judgment behind them. This allowed me to go looking for the truth, unafraid of what I was going to find. Somehow they always brought me back to a place of self love. It is because you wrote the course in a way that incorporates these three elements - curiosity, lack of judgement and love - that I am now a new person."
- Pilar, course participant
A college writing instructor who also blogs about the adventures of single motherhood on Mama the Reader, Katie used writing as her own tool for clarity and purpose in the depths of major life changes and moments of loss. When she launched this project, she had one goal in mind: to share the power of writing with other women and show them how it paved the way to her own healing and discovery and can do just the same for them.
Her work is featured on Sweatpants & Coffee, Mamalode, and Huffington Post, among others.
